Grilled "Boy" Cheese Sandwiches and Tomato Soup
When our youngest son was about 4 years old he was very aware of the different of boys and girls. He was also very partial to boys so when we would ask him if he would like a grilled cheese sandwich he would hear "girl" cheese sandwich and say no I'd like a "boy" cheese sandwich. It has stuck and we now call grilled cheese sandwiches "boy" cheese sandwiches. Hope you enjoy them as much as we do.
Ingredients
- 6 slices cheddar cheese
- 1 stick (½ c) butter
- 1 family size can Tomato Soup
- 1 loaf bread
Instructions
- Warm your pan on the stove while you spread butter on one side of two pieces of bread. Place one piece of bread butter side down on your pan and a slice of cheese on that slice of bread. Then take your second slice of bread and place it on the cheese butter side up. Cook on medium heat for about a minute checking with your spatula until each side is golden brown.
- In a pot add a can of tomato soup and a little bit of water depending on the consistency you like your soup to be. We like ours a little more on the thick side. Warm on the stove on medium heat until it starts to bubble.
- We love to dip our grilled cheese sandwich in our soup. Try it if you haven't. It is so yummy. Perfect meal for a chilly day out.
